News And Updates:
I'm hearing from lots of you as to when you can get an appointment or when we will be re-opening. This isnt possible right now. The Ontario government has ordered all non-essential businesses closed . Until this is lifted, we can't take any appointments unfortunately. Electrolysis as a personal service brings us into direct contact with the client and violates the rules of social distancing which our government is begging the citizens to uphold. It's not worth your life potentially to get an electrolysis treatment and this is the reason we chose to close.
I'll be sending out a notification to all my clients when we are ready to be up and running again. We want to see all of you, but we just arent able to right now. We'd still love to hear from you!

Reminder! It's much better to shave hairs than it is to pluck or wax them during the outbreak closure. Just shave em if you have to. but please, dont pluck.
Effective end of today, March 22 2020 We are closing our doors for a minimum of 2 weeks, and on an ongoing basis we will be reviewing this decision . We expect the Ontario government to order all non-essential businesses to close early this week, if not today. While it has been both mine and Ashly's pleasure to serve you all and we hope to again when this is all over, this important step must now be taken to protect our health, your health, and the health of our respective families. All appointments for the next 2 weeks are now cancelled and we will be reviewing the situation to determine when it should be safe to re-open. This decision was made on the basis that the health of us, our families and our customers, is more important than the possible benefits of staying open. I will update as the situation progresses.
It has been my pleasure to serve each and every one of you and we hope to return to full operation as soon as is possible.
All transgender outreach appointments are cancelled at this time and for the duration of social isolation instructions.
We Remain open at this time, but are measuring as to whether we will remain so and will be making a final determination later this week. It remains to be seen whether Public health will order us to close during the outbreak but it remains a contingency we are expecting. We have made adjustments to our usual operating procedure during the COVID 19 outbreak including the following measures:
Security has been increased during the outbreak and the top office door is kept deadbolted at all times. Upon arrival you MUST ring the ring doorbell to be admitted, and be patient while we verify who you are. Once we have verified who is at our door we will unlock the bottom door and undeadbolt the inner door to allow entry. Clients without an appointment will not be admitted.
Upon arrival you should expect to be asked to wash hands and face using the clean linens provided and the liquid soap dispenser. Soiled Linens may be deposited in the tub ,and to refrain from touching your face thereafter.
We are increasing the time between clients both to minimize contact between clients and to allow extra time to perform disinfection of the premesis between clients. For this reason we will be running partially out of schedule and may be several minutes delayed while we disinfect surroundings between clients. Expect we may be leaving windows open to increase ventilation.
Any client exhibiting cold /flu like symptoms must refrain from booking. We will not accept your bookings for a period of 3 weeks following the cessation of symptoms as a policy. Cancellations have been opened up, however if you do cancel within 48 hours you must still call or email us to explain the reasoning. There will be no fee for cancellations due to corononavirus .
Regardless of our usual clean-down of the skin, we will be using 95% alcohol as a final step, no exceptions. As alcohol of this strength can dry the skin we are letting clients know to expect this. We have a limited supply of alcohol of this strength, and getting more is difficult, so when supplies run out we will be closing if we are unable to get sufficient supply
While we have masks and are utilizing them, unfortunately we do not have a sufficient supply to provide to customers. These too are difficult to obtain at the moment .
I have obtained extra glove supplies and we are double gloving at the moment.
Hand washing remains the most effective measure of protection, and we are ensuring this takes place for every client as we always have . Our recently upgraded sterilization equipment and supplies puts us in a good place in terms of infection control.
I have limited my schedule over the next 3 weeks on some days, opening later on some days and closing earlier on others . This is to optomize childcare costs which are considerable at the moment as well as to prepare that we expect to be told to shut down. If we are ordered to close during the outbreak or If bookings do drop considerably, or our current childcare should become unavailable or not sustainable we will have to close as both Ashly and myself depend on childcare. I expect Ashly to do the same.
There currently is limited room in my schedule midafternoon on wed and thurs but I am otherwise booked up this week and have removed most of my excess schedule and are condensing appointments to accomodate our costs but will open up time if anyone cannot find time call or email and we WILL accomodate you. While there remains the issue of Covid 19 all appointments are tentative . Public health is now recommending social distancing that is not possible with electrology and we are expecting to have to shut down in the near term. Pay attention to this site we will be updating on here first in the event it is determined we must shut down and be sending out a schedulicity email blast.
Due to a medical emergency today ( thurs feb 27) with a family member I have had to close up and shuffle some appointments to Sunday
My schedule is starting to fill up completely as it tends to do every spring. Clients are reminded that Ashly would be pleased to serve you if I am not available when you need, she is a good electrologist and vastly underused in my opinion.
If you need to have specific slots, evenings or saturdays for example, you will need to book at LEAST a week ahead of scheduled appointment time, and in some cases several weeks ahead. This is typical of demand for this time of year.
Remember to leave enough time to account for weather, LRT delays and traffic. With more demands on my time there often will not be the opportunity to delay an appointment because you are running late
I want to say that I took a lovely 45 minute treatment from Ashly this week on my neck, and I'm very happy with the progress she has made with her technique and efficiency. Ashly is doing super well and I'm proud of her progress as an electrologist.
Have a great holidays everyone.
Debit chip and pin is here! We've recently invested in a full debit and credit terminal from Square, just released. We now have the ability to process debit transactions for more than $100 afforded us by Tap.This means we can process a payment right in office ( without having to resort to etransfers) for hour or longer electrolysis appointments. It also means no more bluetooth dongle and a integrated terminal that can print reciepts , or send them to your email. We've also worked out how to list the body area worked on the reciept, an important feature for government employee benefits clients. We're very happy to have an integrated secure device in the office to process payments with.
A heartfelt congratulations to Ashly Barrie who earned a whopping 95% on her final electrolysis exam today! Congratulations Ashly! And it appears Ashly may also be earning an honours on her diploma. This is precisely why she is right here, at Perfect Electrolysis.
I'm happy to Announce that Ashly Barrie is now providing coverage on Sundays at Perfect Electrolysis. . She is also working Tuesday and thursday evenings. Over the coming months I am looking to bring on 1-2 other electrologists for our Hintenburg Tunneys location. This all means a lot more availability for the best in electrolysis treatments. All trained to "Seana's standard" of excellence.
We've moved Domain names, this is because, it's more than just Seana, and well, perfect is a really good goal to strive for and I will be moving the "Electrolysis By Seana " brand at some time in the future ( to be determined) to possibly a home office. In the meantime " Perfect" should suffice.
